Six killed, over 50 injured in rain related incidents in KP

PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Heavy rains with gusty winds in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar on Tuesday killed at least six persons and injured more than 50, Dunya News reported.

The ceiling of BRT stations in Peshawar flew in air due to gusty winds. The speed of wind was so immense that it not only damaged houses but also uprooted trees in various areas of KPK including Peshawar, Swabi, DI Khan, Malakand.

Electricity supply to different part of the province was also disrupted due the heavy rain. The spokesperson of PESCO said 191 feeders were tripped due the heavy rain in the city.

According to rescue sources six persons were killed and over 50 were wounded when roofs of several houses collapsed in Peshawar, Swabi and DI Khan. At least 40 injured persons were admitted at three major hospitals of Preshwar.

Rescue sources informed that three people were killed in Peshawar, two in Swabi and one in DI Khan. Women and children were among the dead and injured.
