Samjhauta Express resumes operation, carries 151 passengers from Lahore to India.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Samjhauta Express – including ten freight bogies – has on Monday resumed operation from Lahore railway station and 151 passengers have departed for India.
All the passengers were very relieved and said such initiatives should be continued for the welfare of people. Security was beefed up at the station. The train departs for India every Monday and Thursday.
Samjhauta Express train service from Pakistan to India had earlier been suspended in a wake of escalating tensions between both countries. The passengers who came from India faced problems in traveling back.
The train connecting Lahore in Pakistan and Atari and Delhi in India was scheduled to depart on February 28 at 08:00 AM but it was cancelled.
