ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Tuesday (today) will inaugurate a mobile-based application namely ‘Pak Rail Live’ to facilitate a large number of customers by providing them information about timings and location of the train besides enabling them to get tickets online.
After that, the monitoring system will be effective in trains from Karachi to Peshawar, Lahore and Faisalabad.
The application even mentions the time left in arriving at the next station for the passenger.
The inauguration ceremony has been organised at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.
According to sources, the mobile application developers’ team has borne the cost of designing and developing the application on their own and not a single rupee has been charged from the government or Pakistan Railways.
Importantly, the PM will also inaugurate the Thal Express that will run between Rawalpindi and Multan via Muzafargarh, Layyah, Bhakar, Kundian and Mianwali.
The train service will be resumed after the period of 11 years. It was abandoned in 2008.
