Fawad terms PML-N leaders presser 'flop show of Thugs of Pakistan'
No one is being targeted and all the cases against Asif Ali Zardari were established in 2015
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday declared the press conference of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders a flop show of “Thugs of Pakistan”.
Addressing a press conference along with Senator Shibli Faraz and Minister of State for Revenue Muhammad Hammad Azhar in Islamabad, he said that both Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardar established fake companies to legalize kickbacks obtained in different projects in the country.
The minister said that both families were running the world s largest money laundering network and they termed this as charter of democracy, adding that democracy is in "danger" if they were asked about their looted money.
Nawaz Sharif could not answer simple question of NAB court about money trail of his assets, he said.
Fawad Chaudhry said no one is being targeted and all the cases against Asif Ali Zardari were established in 2015.
Responding to a question, Chaudhry informed that Special Investigation Unit will proceed from tomorrow regarding confiscation of Nawaz Sharif s Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Company.
On the occasion, Minister of State for Revenue Muhammad Hammad Azhar said PML (N) is misleading people about the facts, adding that Nawaz Sharif received 88 percent profit and share of the companies.
He said that fake companies were used to convert black money into white.
Azhar went on to say that if anyone is involved in corruption in our ranks we will hand over the person to the NAB by ourselves.
He appreciated Joint Investigation Team for unearthing the corruption saga of Asif Ali Zardari. He said Aleema Khan never enjoyed any public office and she provided her money trail of her properties to the Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, Senator Syed Shibli Faraz said that democracy gets strengthen with the accountability.
“Both families deputed blue eyed officers in institutions to hide their corruption which defamed democracy and politics of the country,” he said and added people of Pakistan are paying the price of mega corruption.
PTI leaders during the conference criticized PML (N) leaders for not giving answers of actual questions which the people want to know regarding the corruption conviction.
