Basra, earlier, held a meeting with Jahangir Tareen in Islamabad.
In July this year, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had removed four south Punjab office-bearers including information secretary Shaukat Mahmood Basra for violating the party discipline.
PPP south Punjab President Syed Ahmad Mahmood, Mr Basra, Multan Division President Malik Noshair Langryal, Dera Ghazi Khan Divisional General Secretary Sardar Ghulam Farid Mirani and Layyah District General Secretary Dr Javed Iqbal Kunjial were removed from their party positions after the approval of chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari for violating the party policy.
The action had been taken against the office-bearers as all of them contested general election as independent candidates.
