Pakistan desire to have civilized relations with India was not responded positively by Indian media.

ISLAMABAD, (APP) :The historic ground-breaking of Kartarpur Corridor by Prime Minister Imran Khan in Narowal on Wednesday and reiterating Pakistan s desire to have "civilized relations" with India was not responded positively by Indian media which continued to broadcast anti-Pakistan propaganda.

The Indian media, instead of highlighting the religious importance of this corridor for Sikh community across the world as well as a step towards peace between India and Pakistan, opted to run propaganda when Sikh leader Gopal Chawla shook hand with Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa during the ground-breaking ceremony in Kartarpur.

Despite of the fact that General Bajwa met indiscriminately with all the guests, Indian media showed the meet-up in a prejudiced and selective way.

Indian channels repeatedly broadcasted the clip on their channels claiming that General Bajwa had only met Chawla owing to his political views.

The Indian media also continued to highlight the Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj s media interaction in which she said opening of Kartarpur Corridor by Pakistan could not be described as a peace initiative.

She also emphatically said India would not respond to Pakistan s invitation to participate in SAARC meeting in the country.

Besides a large number of Sikh community members from India and various countries, the ground-breaking of Kartarpur corridor was attended by Indian Minister for food Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Minister for Housing Hardeep S Puri, Indian Punjab Minister for Local Government and Tourism and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu.
