COAS and DG ISI called on Prime Minister Imran Khan.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa Friday called on Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Prime Minister Office to discuss situation after recent threats hurled by Indian army chief General Bipin Rawat.

Director General ISI Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar was also present in the meeting.

“Security and regional stability situation were discussed during the meeting,” a statement from the PM Office said.

Last week, Indian army chief Bipin Rawat threatened Pakistan with ‘retaliation’ over its alleged involvement in last week’s killing of a border guard and policemen in Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

General Bipin Rawat’s remarks came a day after New Delhi called off a meeting scheduled between the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India.

In a message posted on Twitter, PM Imran said: “Disappointed at the arrogant and negative response by India to my call for resumption of the peace dialogue."

“However, all my life I have come across small men occupying big offices who do not have the vision to see the larger picture,” he added.

Meanwhile, Qureshi said that New Delhi has once again demonstrated hesitation, adding that he was shocked and surprised with the development. Dialogues are the only way to resolve all outstanding issues, he asserted.

The minister said that Pakistan wishes improvement in the region but looks like New Delhi has other priorities.
