With Elections just hours away, People have become extremely proactive on social media

(WebDesk) – The importance of social media is fully realized now with the Pakistanis ready to cast their vote in the General Elecions 2018. Every political party is taking full advantage of the medium by focusing on their social media wings that work tirelessly to make sure the party’s views and related news regarding other developments reaches the masses on time.

Political workers stay active on social media as part of their party’s election campaign. This unique trend has taken flight ever since the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf started using this medium for the purpose of conveying the message of change across to the youth.

With polling day just hours away, these workers are busy in convincing the masses to vote for their party’s candidates.

Following the respective parties’ developments, a few hashtags have started trending on social sites like Twitter. For PTI, #TabdeeliLahoreSe and #AbSirfImranKhan have become a hit. As for PPP,#JeetKaNishanTeer and #PMBilawal have started to trend. Lastly, PML N have used #ShehbazKoVoteSeNawazDo and #VoteKoIzzatDo to attract their supporters on Twitter.

Celebrities, too, have taken to Twitter to express their support for their favorite parties. In a video that recently went viral on social media, renowned cricketer Shahid Afridi’s daughters asked the public to cast their vote for PTI’s Imran Khan. Similarly, former cricketer Javed Miandad, also appealed to the masses to favor Imran Khan.

Pakistan People’s Party’s “Jiyaalay” and respective leaders have also stayed proactive on Twitter, appealing their supporters to come out of their homes in numbers to help Bilawal claim the seat to Prime Ministership.

Only time will tell who wins what but one thing is certain: the decision lies in the hands of the common man.
