LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday said former Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif “used police to do his dirty work”.

Addressing a campaign rally in NA-132 constituency, the PTI chairman claimed Shehbaz Sharif used police to do his bidding. “Abid Boxer says he killed people at the behest of Shehbaz Sharif,” he said.

“After Nawaz, Adiala Jail is now waiting for Shehbaz Sharif,” he added.

Imran said that if elected, he will root out corruption by strengthening institutions, will bring investment from abroad and will provide better job opportunities for young people

He also promised changes in the agriculture and education sectors and wide-ranging reforms to introduce a culture of paying tax.

"With the grace of God, we will make a new Pakistan which will be self-sufficient and will stand on its own feet, will prosper and where government will serve its people," he added.

Lambasting the former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government over their alleged failure to address Pakistan’s economic woes, the PTI chairman said, “So far I came to hear that the PML-N has an experienced team and will improve the condition of the economy.”

“During the last month, depreciation of rupee added to debt burden. Deposits in banks fell by 20 per cent. Economy, manufacturing and the institutions have been destroyed.

"Earlier, it happened in Zardari’s era and now PML-N has further weakened the economy. Downfall of every institution in the country entailed feeble economy."
