Summary Employees protests continued in Lahore and Karachi against the proposed privatisation of railways.
Addressing the protestors, the union leaders said that officers were trying to sell the department for their vested interests. They said that to hand over the Karakoram Express and Tezgam Express trains to a private company was a conspiracy against the poor employees. They said that the department could be converted into a profitable entity by ending corruption. They said that they would halt the train service across the country if the government tried to privatise the department.
