India assures security of Pakistan cricket team

Summary Pakistans high commissioner in New Delhi in contact with India on cricket teams security, says FO.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Tehmina Janjua in her weekly briefing told the media that Pakistani and Indian interior secretaries would meet in New Delhi on March 28 and 29 while trade secretaries of both the countries would meet in Islamabad the next month. She said that Pakistan’s high commissioner in New Delhi was in complete contact with the Indian government to ensure security for the Pakistani cricket team in India.She said that desecration of the Holy Quran in the US had been condemned at all levels. She maintained that drone attacks had always been opposed by the Pakistani government, adding that the government had urged the US to change its policy regarding the attacks. She stated that about 65,000 Pakistanis were living in Bahrain. She said that violation of human rights in Libya, Bahrain and Kashmir or anywhere was regrettable.
