In Pictures: Heavy showers continue, Lahore plunges into water

Met office forecasts more rains for next 24 hours

(Web Desk) - As the spasmodic rains with thunderstorm drench the provincial capital, roads flood in heavy water and power breakdowns strike the entire Lahore. At least, six deaths are feared so far, as rain continues with thunderstorm and gusty winds since night.

Intermittent torrential rainfall for past twelve hours wreaks flood like situation. Lahore has recorded at least 252 millimeters of continuous heavy showers in last twenty four hours. WASA has imposed an emergency as roads have become submerged in water.

People face packed jam roads and heavy influx of traffic due to inundated roads. All the underpasses have been closed for traffic as water has accumulated. To add to the misery, a breach also occurred near GPO chowk Lahore.

Met office forecasts more rains for next 24 hours.
