Lyari visit: Deputy Commissioner sends show-cause notice to Bilawal

Summary Bhutto breached Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) code of conduct , notice stated.

LYARI (Dunya News) – Deputy Commissioner South on Tuesday has sent show-cause notice to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari over his Lyari visit.

According to the notice, Bilawal Bhutto breached Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) code of conduct as the rally was carried out without getting NOC from Deputy Commissioner.

The security arrangements were not made as the administration was unaware of the rally, it further stated.

It was also mentioned in teh notice that as per election rules, permission is required before conducting any public gathering at any place. 

On July 1, enraged residents of Karachi’s Bihar Colony pelted stones at motorcade of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The women also took part in the protest. Some protesters also resorted to vandalism and broke window of the vehicle.

Police resorted to baton-charge to disperse the angry protesters. At least one member of the PPP was injured in the clashes and rushed to hospital for treatment.
