(Web Desk) It is being said that a decade of democracy in Pakistan has fairly been completed so far. The completion of second consecutive term of an elected government is widely being considered a sanguine omen in taking a step, further in firming democratic roots in the cores of Pakistan.

This recently been flourished democracy has started giving the fruit, the nation was longing since its came into being.

The general election 2018 is pleasantly marked with a Great Spirit of social inclusion, sense of participation and the intellect of the importance of an individual’s insertion to ensure the rule of the people, for the people and by the people.

This general election, the people’s representatives from different walks of society intends to become part of the National politics. This includes lawyers, doctors, engineers, IT specialists, and teachers also showbiz celebrities.

It isn’t the first time that the lime light artists have shown their interest and willingness in taking part in politics. There were many in past who not only participated in real time politics even made their way to the parliament, too. The most known among them is the Neelaam-Ghar famed Tariq Aziz, who were in politics for a while and been associated with many political parties.

Women celebrities have also tried to claim space into the political arena of Pakistan. Kanwal Noman, is the recent leading name, who on PMLN’s reserved seat, played her part in Punjab politics in the last tenure of 2013 till 2015 and again forwarded the request for the reserved seat for the next term.

In the general elections 2018, the most prominent debutant celebrities intend to contest election from different national and provincial constituencies include Sajid Hassan, Ayub Khosa, Abrar ul Haq, Abid Ali and Jawad Ahmad.

Let’s have a quick glance over the celebs from the glam world, contesting elections from which constituencies and using which platforms. The battle to attract more of the fan following to the polling booths is already being kicked off.

Sajid Hassan

The Veteran and renowned TV and film artist Sajid Hassan who has a massive fan following locally and nationally, will be contesting for the national assembly from the constituency of Karachi, NA-256 on the party ticket awarded by Pakistan Peoples Party.

Ayub Khosa

PPP has also awarded the party ticket to another legendry and highly regarded artist Ayub Khosa. He was given the ticket to contest elections for provincial constituency PS-101. Khosa’s career spans over three decades. He is also famous for his welfare work being done since long.

Abrarul haq

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf should be given the credit to mainstream more and more people from different walks of life into politics. The most prominent among them are Singer turned Philanthropist turned politician Abrarul Haq, Junoon-famed singer and guitarist Salman Ahmad and once a nation’s heartthrob Pyare Afzal celebrated TV and Film artist, Hamza Ali Abbasi. Another TV artist Abid Ali has also joined PTI a little while. So far, nothing potential information comes out with regards to his political activism.

PTI Chairman has a personal warm and friendly relationship with all of the above-mentioned celebrity turned politicians or aspiring politicians. Salman and Hamza are expected to be seen into the political limelight in substantial capacity in the forthcoming days. As per the few media sources, they are not being considered so far, to be awarded the party tickets to contest elections this time.

However, Abrarul Haq has been given the party ticket to contest elections against, none other than the veteran and one among the most experienced and proficient PMLN’s politician and former interior minister Ahsan Iqbal.

Abrarul Haq joined PTI in 2011 and since then is quite active in politics. He has came out as the most promising politician in the latest canvas of politics. He also runs a welfare organisation called, Sahara.

Jawad Ahmad

The young and talented singer and philanthropist Jawad Ahmad has established his own political party in 2017. He registered his political party with ECP with the name of Barabri Party Pakistan from Karachi. He also intends to contest election from the platform of his party. The Islamabad based singer turned politician, Jawad Ahmad also runs a welfare project, Education for All.
