RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) - Chief of the Army Staff Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa on Saturday confirmed death sentences awarded to at least 11 terrorists for their involvement in heinous terrorism related offences.

According to an Inter-Services Public Relations statement, the terrorists were involved in attacks on security installations, Law Enforcement Agencies, Malakand University and citizens.

The terrorists were awarded the death sentence over killing at least 60 individuals including 24 security officials. Moreover; at least 142 people sustained injuries in the attacks.

Army Chief also sanctioned various nature of penalties to three most dangerous terrorists namely Burhan-ud-din, Shaheer Khan and Gulfaraz Khan who belonged to banned organizations. They killed at least 30 people in an attack on a funeral in Mardan.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa MNA Imran Khan Mohmand was also among the deceased.

ISPR says that the trio confessed to their crime in trial court after which they were sentenced to death.
