Ban on recruitment: CJP takes suo motu, issues notice to ECP
The three-member bench will assume hearing from Monday.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday took suo motu notice on Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) ban on recruitments for government jobs.
As per details garnered, CJP has issued notice to ECP secretary whereas a three-member bench has been constituted to assume the hearing from tomorrow (April-23, 2017).
The three-member bench will be headed by CJP and comprise Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Hassan.
It is pertinent here to mention that ECP on April-11 had imposed a ban on pre-election recruitment and uplift works across the country announced after April 1.
Also the diversion of funds for development works would not take place. However, recruitment process through the public service commission would be continued.
Meanwhile, the commission has also received the list of judicial officers to be appointed returning officers and assistant returning officers from high courts. The commission thanked the chief justice of Pakistan and all the chief justices of high courts.
