Summary The disagreement surfaced after formation of JIT in CTD notification

KARACHI (Dunya News) – The investigation of Intezar murder case has created disagreements between the law enforcement officials after the formation of Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in the notification issued by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

The Sindh home ministry has been approached to issue new orders for the purpose of creating the JIT for Intezar case.

A meeting of CTD officials was held today under Additional IG Sanaullah Abbasi where officers related to operations and investigations participated. Regarding the murder of Intezar, it was told that statement of a doctor will also be included in the case.

Earlier, the father of slain Intezar Ahmed had expressed doubts over the investigation made in his son’s murder case after JIT recorded statements of Intezar’s bereaved father, Madiha Kiyani, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muqaddas Haider and others in its first session. He said that CTD has decided over the case on the basis of previous probe. The father claims that DIG CTD has already finalized the results.

They also reviewed the performance of specialised teams to find and arrest Rao Anwar. Two witnesses in the murder case recorded their statements. They told that the police officers assaulted them while they were unaware of Naqeeb’s murder.

Meanwhile, mobile location revealed that former Malir SSP Rao Anwar, man allegedly responsible for Naqeeb’s encounter killing, was in Islamabad last week.
