Summary Parliament members from PTI, walked out from the meeting while JI also opposed the commission

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – In a meeting session of Parliamentary Committee for National Accountability Law regarding the formation of accountability commission under the supervision of Minister for Law and Justice Zahid Hamid, it was mutually consented that Pakistan Army and Judiciary will be excluded from the domain of the new AC.

Another point of consent for parliament committee was informed by Minister Zahid Hamid that on-going NAB cases will be shifted to the new courts.

However, members of parliament committee belonging to PTI, walked out after some of their suggestions for the new commission were rejected. JI also opposed the new commission and submitted its recommendations to the Parliament Committee.

On PTI and JI’s reluctance to cooperate Zahid Hamid emphasized the importance of parties’ unity in law amendments and recalled that Accountability law of year 1999 is flawed so significant changes must be brought.

Shireen Mazari said that suggestions will be presented in National Assembly as the government is not ready to agree with the committee chairman’s proposals.
