Hashtag wars: 'Mission Grand Trunk Road' lights up Twitter

(Web Desk) - The country on Wednesday witnessed the newly-elected Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi seeing off the ousted PM Nawaz Sharif from Punjab House as he heads to Lahore, in what is being termed as ‘Mission Grand Trunk Road’. But with political temperatures soaring across the country, in a show of political rivalry, Pakistanis took to Twitter to engage in hashtag wars.
Where hashtags like ‘GT Road Rally’ and ‘Nawaz On GT Road’ are trending on the micro-blogging site, PTI continues to maintain the popularity of ‘Nawaz Chor Machaye Shor’, while the PML-N supporters, and senior party members are catching up trying to make it to the top with hashtags like ‘Hum Bhi Hain Nawaz’ and ‘Dilo Ka Wazir e Azam Nawaz Sharif’, literally meaning “Nawaz Sharif the Prime Minister of our hearts”.
