Kidney transplant scandal: FIA seals private laboratory
FIA team also recovered data of a donor during raid on the private laboratory in Lahore on Sunday.
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday sealed a private laboratory in Lahore in connection with the illegal kidney transplant scandal.
An FIA team raided the laboratory on the information provided by the two doctors already arrested in connection with the scam. The FIA team also recovered data of a donor named Muhammad Amir during raid on the laboratory.
The FIA team also seized main computer and some important file on the directives of Deputy Director FIA Jamil Ahmed Khan who is heading the investigation team.
Pathologist Dr Khalid, who is also the owner of the laboratory, has said that he was not part of this illegal business.
On the other hand, FIA has also a woman named Safia in connection with the kidney transplant scandal from Pind Araian. Safia was a nurse in a government hospital and was serving as an agent in the illegal organ transplant business.
