Summary PPP leader says the ruling family in hot waters in the Panama case, will have to prove money trail
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan has on Tuesday said that the Sharif family was fast moving into the hot waters in Panama case, reported Dunya News.
The senior PPP leader said that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) had been saying from the very first day that London flats were owned by Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz. “Since the Sharf family has admitted that the property is owned by them, it is now their duty to prove that it was acquired from legal means”, he said.
“Sharif family claims that it has no record and no bank account either. How is it possible to have income worth billions and nobody having a bank account? Were they carrying the Riyals and Dirhams in bags or were they burying them under the sand? Or did they use to transfer the money on donkeys? They will have to prove their income was legal”.
Aitzaz said that while the Sharif family wanted everyone to believe the business was legal simply on the basis of the Qatari prince’s letter while the Qatari prince says that he did business with Mian Sharif for 28 years. On the other hand, there is no mention of the Qatari letter or the documents in the tax papers.
