Sartaj Aziz discusses foreign policy, says this year would be better
PM's advisor on foreign affairs said that they would improve relations with India with dignity
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Prime Minister s (PM) advisor on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz said on Friday that 2017 would be a better year than 2016 for Pakistan as he discussed foreign police, reported Dunya News.
Sartaj Aziz was talking in Dunya TV program, "Dunya Kamran Khan Ke Saath" as he said that they would assure Afghanistan that Pakistan s land would not be used for any activities against Afghanistan, as it was promised by PM Nawaz Sharif and former Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Raheel Sharif.
Talking about relations with India, he said that Pakistan have the same stance and they would want better relations with India but with dignity and equality, unlike India which wants to be head of the region. He also said that Pakistan wants a peaceful Line of Control (LOC) and dialogue.
Sartaj Aziz also told that other countries also want to be a part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), including Afghanistan. He said that better economic conditions will ensure a better Pakistan in 2017.
He also said that there are going to be elections in some states of India and anti Pakistan speeches help them get votes, hence Indian army chief gave statement against Pakistan and politicians are doing point scoring.
Sartaj said that Pakistan has very good relations with Saudi Arabia since forever because of holy places and Pakistan also has balance with better relations with Iran. He added that talks are underway to work on gas pipeline with Iran.
