Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf has yet again announced to end the present power crisis in Karachi, Dunya News reported on Sunday. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the worlds biggest power producing ship given by Turkey, Raja Pervez Ashraf said that Karachi is the business capital of the country and that the new project would help increasing the economic activities in the city. He said that the government is working on different hydel, coal and wind power projects but these projects are long term and therefore rental projects are being employed to lessen the intensity of the power crisis. The federal minister also said that the residents of Karachi would not pay any additional amount for the power provided by the ship. Speaking on the occasion Chief Minister Sind Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that the federal government and the World Bank should help the provincial government for Thar coal project. The chief minister also said that the said project would enable us to create thousands of megawatts in a time of 3-4 years.
