Three murderers hanged in Lahore Central Jail
Gassing of a convict was 'postponed' on Tuesday after rival parties reached an agreement
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Two brothers among three death row inmates have been hanged in Kot Lakhpat jail, Dunya News reported Wedneday.
All three were sentenced to death in murder trials. Imran and Luqman, two brothers had murdered a local named Ali in Islamabad in 1996 over a paltry issue. A local court had awarded death sentences to the brothers in 1997.
The other executed person, Raheel had gunned down a local in Sargodha in 1994. The garroted person is said to have hailed from Dera Ghazi Khan.
Four executions have been carried out at the Central Jail in two days. Aslam, another death row inmate was hanged on Tuesday for killing a man in 2003.
On the other hand, gassing of a convict, Farrukh Shahzad, was ‘postponed’ after rival parties reached an agreement.
The government had ended six-year long abeyancy regarding capital punishment in December 2014 after militants attacked Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar and heinously killed over 100 students.
