Those providing shelter and aid to extremists will not be forgiven as well: CM Punjab

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday reiterated that the noose was being tightened around terrorists in the province. CM Punjab further added that those providing shelter and aid to extremists will not be forgiven as well.

Addressing participants of a high level meeting in Lahore, CM Punjab on, behalf of the Provincial government, assured the Federation that extremist banned outfits like Jaish-e-Mohammad and others were now being cornered.

CM Shahbaz also stated that a search was on going to locate those who aid and fund the extremists.

CM Punjab’s comments surfaced in light of arrests made earlier where several members of Jaish-e-Mohammad, a banned outfit, were taken into custody on leads provided by the Indian authorities in connection with January 2 attack on Indian airbase in Pathankot.

CM Punjab’s statements were also directed at an earlier suicide bomb blast near a polio vaccination centre in Quetta which left at least fifteen people dead including 13 policemen and wounded 24 others.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also stressed that Pakistan’s territory will not be used against any other country.

PM Nawaz further stated that the government is committed to stamping out extremism from the country and the operation will continue till elimination of terrorism.
