Summary One injures as cracker fired on ARY office in Islamabad, assailants flee as guard opens fire
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - ARY office in F-7 area of Islamabad was attacked on Wednesday with a cracker by unknown assailants on a motorcycle.
It was reported that the terrorists attacked with a cracker and also fired bullets afterwards which injured a Non Linear Editor (NLE) of ARY. The injured was then transferred to the Polyclinic Hospital for first aid.
The attackers fled the scene as the security guard fired in response. The attackers also threw pamphlets on the scene.
Law enforcement arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area to collect evidence.
Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Pervez Rashid also reached on the scene and condemned the attack. He said that every effort should be made to arrest the attackers.
Pervez Rashid assured the media houses of more security and that government will make sure of security of media offices.
Earlier the deputy commissioner Abdul Sattar Isani said that all offices of media houses have been provided additional security.
Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan also visited the ARY office and condemned the incident. He was accompanying Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jahangir Tareen who also condemned the attack on ARY office.
