LAHORE (Dunya News) – Foreign Secretary level talks between India and Pakistan scheduled originally for January 15 have been delayed and the new date will be announced later, Dunya News reported quoting Indian media.

According to details, the Indian media has claimed that the talks have been delayed with mutual consultations and that the new date will be announced later.

Reportedly, the terrorist attack on Pathankot airbase has hindered the negotiation process between India and Pakistan.

The Foreign Secretary level talks were scheduled during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Lahore visit and the date was set as January 15.

However, the delay in the meeting is now being hinted by the meeting. Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had said on Tuesday that the decision on whether talks will take place or not will be taken in due course.

On Wednesday, the Indian Foreign Minister held a consultation on talks with Pakistan after which Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj met Prime Minister Modi.

As per the Indian media, it has been decided in this meeting that the talks scheduled for January 15 will be postponed.

Reportedly, the National Security Advisers of both countries will meet before the Foreign Secretary-level meeting.
