Summary Shah had termed absence of Nawaz Sharif from the Parliament deplorable

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Opposition Leader in the National Assembly (NA) Khursheed Shah on Saturday has said that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif would take the Parliament in confidence on January 11 over Pakistan’s policy in matter of Saudi Arabia and Iran tensions.

While talking to the media in Sukkur, the Opposition Leader talked about forthcoming discussion in the Parliament over Saudi-Iran row.

Shah said that the Prime Minister would address the Parliamentarians regarding Pakistan’s supposed role in reconciliation between the two Muslim countries.

The Opposition Leader talked about Pakistan’s war on terror and urged the government to take required steps to save the country. He said that “Daesh etcetera, there is nothing,” same operatives come from different banners.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has earlier expressed reservations over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while the Opposition Leader reiterated the stance.

Shah said that the party stands with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and other parties who are skeptical over distribution of the historic foreign investment by China.

Earlier on January 6, Khursheed Shah had criticised the Prime Minister and federal ministers for maintaining absence from the Parliament sessions.

Shah had termed absence of Nawaz Sharif from the Parliament deplorable.

Shah reminded that the Parliament had driven the government out of troubled situations when it needed. PM Nawaz Sharif and the ministers except few do not attend assembly sessions, he added.

He said that the behavior shows Parliament’s significance for the government. Parliament has no standing if every matter has to be decided by courts, he added. Shah said that memo scandal had been brought only to weaken the Parliament.

None from the government is giving the Parliament its due respect, he added.
