Thursdays results followed a trend that closely resembled the outcome for the first phase of the elections rounds conducted earlier this year, with Pakistan Muslim League—Nawaz (PML-N) leading the polls from Punjab and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leaving their rivals far behind once again in Sindh.
According to unofficial results PML-N has managed to secure 911 seats from Punjab while PPP won 961 seats up until now. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) managed to grab 266 seats from Punjab, but failed in reaching even a double figure in Sindh, winning 8 seats from the province.
PML-N’s lead in Punjab and PPP’s majority win in Sindh is followed by the victories of independent candidates who have managed to secure 733 seats in Punjab and 102 seats in Sindh.
