ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Islamabad administration has decided to seal Red Zone by placing containers ahead of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) scheduled rally on October 4, sources told Dunya News.
According to sources, Nadra Chowk, Serena Chowk, Margalla Road and all entry points of Red Zone will be sealed with shipping containers on October 2 if the opposition party did not withdraw its decision to hold rally in the city.
Red Zone houses diplomatic posts, parliament, government offices and the presidential and prime ministerial palaces.
The PTI will not be allowed to hold rally at D-Chowk and if the party wants to change venue of the rally, it will have to acquire fresh NOC, sources told.
Imran Khan’s party intends to stage sit-in outside the Election Commission of Pakistan s (ECP) office in Islamabad as part of its efforts to force the members of the Commission to resign over their failure of holding free and fair elections in 2013.
