ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The Election Commission has once again drawn attention of the Members of the Parliament and provincial assemblies to submit yearly statements of assets and liabilities of their own, their spouses and dependents by 30th September, 2015.
Members of the Senate, National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies of the Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Puktunkhuwa and Balochistan are required to submit their asset details in the Election Commission Secretariat under Section 42A of the Representation of the People Act, 1976 and Section 25A of the Senate (Election) Act, 1975.
According to details, seven hundred lawmakers including Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah, Imran Khan and chief ministers of three provinces have still not submitted their details yet. The total strength of lawmakers in the Senate, National Assembly and provincial assemblies is 1,174.
The ECP will notify the names of the members who fail to file statements of assets & liabilities by October 15 and will issue an order that such member shall cease to function till submission of their statement.
