264 degrees declared valid, 47 fake: Secy EC

Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmed on Thursday confirmed that of the received degrees, 246 have been declared genuine while 47 parliamentarians are declared as fake degree holders. Talking to media in Islamabad, Ishtiaq said that he directed all the concerned universities to speed up the evaluation process. He maintained that 90 percent degrees have been declared genuine by the concerned varsities while another 22 degrees have been sent to the HEC for assessment. Ishtiaq stated that all the fake degree holders would be given a chance to justify their position.
