Flood in Rive Indus caused submersion of 95 villages at Rojhan besides wiping out 20 villages at Kandh Kot and Ghouspur, while 1 million cusecs flood tide would pass through Guddu Barrage on Thursday (today). Currently flood of 1.75 million cusecs is ravaging through Rajanpur making the authorities to declare Rojhan as sensitive and evacuate people from 10 villages. The floodwater has swept away a part of railway track near Miani disrupting the rail traffic. In Dera Ismail Khan, rain continued for the fourth consecutive day caused inundation of many Mozuat while the inter-provincial roads have also been damaged causing disruption of communication between Punjab and Balochistan. The breach in Paharpur Canal submerged several areas of DI Khan while breaking of Moza Kacha Chauhan and Moza Madh Munthar bund damaged standing crops at 4,000 acres of land. Flood devastation in SindhIn Jampur, floods rendered around 0.1 million people homeless as many are still trying to shift to safer places on self-help basis. In view of the threatening flood situation, 145 areas including Guddu Barrage have been declared sensitive besides Army has been deployed to meet any untoward situation. In Khairpur, many houses at Kot Mir Muhammad have been swept away whereas thousands of acres of agricultural land flooded. In Pannu Aqil, heavy rains collapsed 3 houses while a village is vanished by floodwater after a breach emerged in Qazi Wah embankment. As many as 20 houses collapsed in Shikarpur resultantly a minor was killed while 33 others got seriously injured. Around 33 villages have been submerged in Kandiaro. According to Irsa reports River Sind is in high flood at Chashma, Taunsa and Kala Bagh areas while a low flood is witnessed in River Chenab at Khanki area. Irsa sources said that in Tarbela the water level is 1,529 feet with a similar level of inflow and outflow i.e, 3, 24, 200 cusecs. In Mangla, water level is 1,206feet while inflow and outflow is 81, 596 cusecs.
