LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday has adjourned the hearing of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Qasim Zia’s bail petition till September 17 and summoned a plea bargain record from National Accountability Court (NAB).

A two-member bench headed by Justice Maqbool Bajwa heard the case during which NAB official told the court that the owner of company allegedly involved in money scam has confessed to divide the fraud amount with Qasim Zia. He said that NAB has also collected evidence in this matter.

The official further demanded to dispose of the bail plea of PPP leader.

Meanwhile, Qasim Zia’s lawyer argued that NAB has no evidence against his client. He said that keeping anyone in the jail on the basis of accusations is illegal therefore, the court should hear Qasim’s bail plea.

Subsequently, the court has sought record of plea bargain from NAB till September 17.
