NAP implementation: Meeting agrees over proposals regarding registration of madrassas, NGOs

Summary The meeting discussed the progress made on the 20 points of the National Plan of Action.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday chaired a review meeting of the National Action Plan (NAP) in Islamabad.

The meeting discussed matters pertaining to religious seminaries, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and the progress made on the National Plan of Action that was approved at the highest level to root out terrorism and bring peace in all parts of the country.

During the meeting, the participants agreed over recommendation regarding registration of religious seminaries and NGOs. 

The meeting also reviewed law and order situation with particular focus on Karachi and future course of action to further improve the situation.

The meeting reviewed the performance of Apex Committees set up to monitor implementation of National Action Plan.

After conclusion of the meeting headed by the Interior Minister, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is chairing the second session of the meeting. 

The provincial Governors, Chief Ministers, AJK Prime Minister Abdul Majeed, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, heads of intelligence agencies and Chairman NADRA are attending the meeting.
