PTI bags 9 seats in KP District Nazim elections, JI gets 4
KP District Nazim election results have arrived, PTI has secured 9 seats, JI got 4, PML-N bagged 3
PESHAWAR: (Dunya News) – 22 District Nazim election results in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP)have on Sunday arrived and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has succeeded in securing highest number of District Nazim seats in the elections. PTI secured 9 Nazims while Jamaat Islami (JI) followed with 4 Nazims. Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) got 3, Jamiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) got 2 each. Awami National Party (ANP) was able to succeed in Swabi only, reported Dunya News.
Arbab Asim of PTI became the District Nazim from Peshawar while Chief Minister KP Pervez Khattak’s brother Liaquat Khattak won the election in Nowshehra district. Adil Islam of PTI won the election in Haripur while Atta ur-Rehman of the same party was successful in securing the District Nazim seat in Batgram. Mustafa Kundi won from Taank, Dr. Umar Daraz from Karak, Aziz Ullah Zai from DI Khan, Noor Muhammad from Tor Ghara and Fahd Khan from Charsadah succeeded on PTI tickets.
Jamaat Islami’s (JI) Shehzada Faseeh Ullah won the election from Upper Dir. Maarfat Shah in Chitral, Dr. Ubaid Ullah in Buner and Muhammad Rasool Khan bagged the District Nazim seat in Lower Dir on JI ticket.
Muhammad Ali Shah of PML-N became the District Nazim from Swat. PML-N candidates Sardar Syed Ghulam and Niaz Amir Muqam also won the elections in Mansehra and Shangla respectively.
JUI-F’s Mufti Ubaid Ullah and Maulana Muhammad Niaz won the elections in Hangu and Kohat respectively. PPP’s Syed Ahmed Ali won the election in Malakand and Ashfaq Ahmad of the same party secured the seat from Laki Marwat. ANP’s Amir Rehman also secured the District Nazim office in Swabi.
