Summary Ayaz Sadiq contacted PM, CM Punjab and Interior Minister, discussed tribunal decision on NA-122
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has on Sunday contacted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on telephone and discussed with them the election tribunal verdict on NA-122. He said that the PM and the entire Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leadership is ready for any legal or political challenge, reported Dunya News.
According to sources, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has said that the strategy on election tribunal’s decision will be decided upon in the meeting on Monday. He said that all the leaders including the PM are ready to fight the legal and political war.
Election tribunal, headed by Justice (r) Kazim Ali Malik, had given the verdict on NA-122 in the favor of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI). In an 80-page detailed judgment, the tribunal had de-seated Sardar Ayaz Sadiq from NA-122 seat and ordered re-polling in the constituency. The PP-147 results had also been annulled by the tribunal and Mian Mohsin Latif was de-seated from his Punjab Assembly seat.
The election tribunal had also rejected the supplementary report by NADRA. In 2013 election, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had defeated Chairman PTI Imran Khan from this constituency with a margin of 8872 votes. Rejecting the results, Imran Khan had filed a petition against it in the election tribunal.
