Summary
Chairman of National Counter-Terrorism Authority (NACTA) Tariq Pervez has resigned. He was appointed as chairman of the authority in 2008. According to sources, Pervez has resigned as he could not persuade his seniors to place the organisation under the Prime Ministers Office, where it would have more power to oblige intelligence and security services to cooperate. He also demanded funds for the authority but his demands were not addressed.
