Almost whole of Sindh is shut amid demonstrations to register ire against the opening of Chashma Jhelum Link Canal on River Inuds, which supplies water to Punjab on Friday. Shutter down is being reported from Hala, Bhit Shah, Dadu, Jamshoro, Tando Adam, Allah Yar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Nawabshah, Mehrabpur, Jacobabad, Dharki, Ghotki. Business centers are closed in Mirpur Mathelo, Obaro, Khairpur, Pannu, Aqil, Naushero Feroze, Kashmore and Kandhkot while the roads are wearing a deserted look. Meanwhile, Sindh Qaumi Mahaz termed the reopening of the said canal is illegal as it would result in water scarcity in the province, which would affect the cotton and rice crops. On the other hand, the Sindh government expressed concern over the issue and urged the Prime Minister to take notice in this regard. Punjab would take water issue to CCI: SanaullahMeanwhile, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that the river water dispute can be taken to the Council of the Common Interests (CCI).Talking to newsmen outside Punjab Assembly, Sanaullah said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif would meet Prime Minister Gilani next week and hopefully the matter will be resolved in the meeting. Punjab facing difficulties in getting water: KhosaMeanwhile, Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa has said that Punjab is facing acute difficulties in getting water. Talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, Khosa said that Punjab is seeking its water share according to the accords, adding that the other parties could complain only when we seek more water than our quota. He said Sindh is free to write to the PM or its members resign, Punjab would not move inch from its stipulated share.
