KARACHI (Dunya News) – A ban on pillion riding has been issued on Monday for three days to maintain law and order situation in the city during NA-246 elections. The ban will be in effect from tonight, reported Dunya News.
Police in Karachi is stepping up measures such as banning pillion riding, deploying more personnel and providing extra security to candidates as a part of campaign to improve law and order situation during elections.
Inspector General (IG) Sindh has given recommendation for ban on pillion riding for 3 days to Home Department of Sindh, which has been approved and will be in effect from 21 to 24 April.
SSP Central has said that there 20 sensitive locations for which security has been tightened.
SSP Central further said that every polling station will be commanded by a single SP adding that on the day of elections, Rangers will be deployed in addition to the police personnel on polling stations.
