Summary There is no rush to reach a final decision, said Khurshid Shah

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The joint Parliament session on Wednesday will continue on the third day on the Yemen conflict to find a consensus over the deployment of troops in Yemen in support of Saudi Arabia or not.

Earlier, the joint Parliament session was adjourned yesterday after discussion over the matter.

The Prime Minister (PM) said that the government wants sincere recommendations from the parliamentary parties and that is the purpose of calling a joint parliamentary session. PM Nawaz Sharif said that Turkish president’s view regarding the issue draws parallels with that of Pakistan’s.

Ghulam Ahmad Bilour raised a rather important note saying that participation in the Saudi-led offensive would increase sectarian violence in the country and also disturb relations with neighbouring Iran. He also said that Pakistani Army soldiers are not mercenaries.

However, the Opposition Leader in the national Assembly (NA) Khurshid Shah said that there is no rush to make a decision and he supports PM’s view of reaching a final decision after Turkish president’s meeting with Iranian resident over the matter.

Moreover, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members have also returned to the Parliament after their boycott spanning more than seven months. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) members had demonstrated a protest earlier over PTI s return as they had resigned from their seats. MQM Dr Farooq Sattar called the PTI members "strangers" sitting in the session.
