F-9 park: SC orders demolition of food outlet

The Supreme Court has ordered demolition of a fast food outlet and a club in F-9 park, Dunya News reported on Friday. Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry took a suo moto of the issue. A three member bench, headed by the CJ heard the case and reserved the ruling last month. The SC also directed demolition of an international fast food outlet, Aiwan-e-Qaed, library and a sports club within three months. The court also directed the completion of a citizen club for common people. The apex court ordered action against Kamran Lashari and others concerned who lease out the public park land for commercial purposes against the law.
