KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former Interior Minister Rehman Malik met Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Siraj-ul-Haq in Karachi to discuss the ways out to active the political Jirga, Dunya News reported on Saturday.

According to sources, both the leaders decided to make the reconciliatory Jirga functional whereas JI chief also talked with Co-chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari.

While talking to the media, Rehman Malik stated that both the parties have agreed on not harming the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

He further added that the resignations of PTI have not been accepted in Sindh. PTI and Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are big political parties, therefore, they should not engage in a dispute.

JI Chief said that the threat of martial law during PTI’s sit-in has been over thus, the resigned members should return to the assemblies.

Moreover, a reconciliation draft on Judicial Commission (JC) will be presented to both PTI and government after finalization.
