Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that industrial unites are being closed and offices will be closed for two days a week; the leaders are responsible for this crisis. He said that price of diesel in the international market is being decreased, then why costly diesel is being purchased for electricity production. The Supreme Court has called the secretary water and power and secretary finance on May 10 against a writ filed against regular increase in the prices of electricity. The CJP asked from advocate of marketing companies that why prices of electricity are being increased. The advocate replied that due to agreements with IMF and the World Bank, all subsidies are being abolished in the next budget. The CJP said that the leaders should keep peoples interest ahead of everything else.
