US Deptt of Defense alleges Pakistan uses proxies against Afghanistan and India.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The advisor to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz on Wednesday recorded official protest against the United States of America (USA) over its Department of Defense report alleging Pakistan to use proxies against Indian military, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, Pakistan has also summoned the US Ambassador to Pakistan Richard Olson to the Foreign Office (FO) to take up the issue on diplomatic level.
The report alleges that Pakistan uses ‘Afghan’ and ‘Indian-focused’ militants as proxies against Afghanistan and India.
“Afghan- and Indian-focused militants continue to operate from Pakistan territory to the detriment of Afghan and regional stability”, the report says. “Pakistan uses these proxy forces to hedge against the loss of influence in Afghanistan and to counter India’s superior military"
