Summary Both discussed the ongoing political crisis.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif in Islamabad today.
According to the sources, they both discussed the ongoing political crisis and agreed upon sorting out the prevailing tension through dialogue.
Earlier, COAS General Raheel Sharif had called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Both discussed country’s prevailing political situation including protests outside the Parliament House.
The Prime Minister and Army Chief also discussed overall security situation of the country and ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb in North Waziristan Agency.
During meeting, they had agreed to resolve current crisis in the best national interest at the earliest.
The meeting came at the time when anti-government protests in the heart of Pakistan s capital show no sign of ending almost two weeks after they began as cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan sticks to his demand for PM Nawaz Sharif to stand down over allegations his party rigged last year s elections.
