Summary The provinces agreed to pay in advance the 25 percent of electricity bills to the Finance Ministry.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A meeting of Council of Common Interest (CCI) with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair held here on Thursday.

Chief Ministers, chief secretaries of the provinces and other higher authorities attended the meeting.

In the meeting, the provinces allowed Finance Ministry to receive 25 percent amount of electricity bills in advance.

They agreed to pay in advance the 25 percent of electricity bills to the Finance Ministry. Later within 60 days, the deducted amount will be adjusted.

The provinces assured that the staff of various departments transferred after the 18th Amendment will be absorbed and legislation will be made in this regard.

The meeting agreed that the provinces and the federal government agreed to settle the arrears within 30 days.

Minister of Water and Power will present the report regarding collection of revenues during the next meeting. 

Mheanwhile, the PM expressed annoyance over delay in investigation into Kachi Canal case. He directed the ministry of Water to get services of International auditors to probe the case.

The meeting also approved that the Balochistan CM would exercise the power to appoint chairman Gawadar Port Authority while 50% members of the board would be appointed from Balochista
