SHC reserves decision over Musharraf's ECL plea

KARACHI (Web Desk) – The Sindh High Court on Thursday reserved its judgment over a plea submitted by former military ruler Pervez Musharraf seeking removal of his name from the exit control list (ECL) to travel abroad, Dunya News reported.

During case proceeding today, Attorney General Salman Aslam Butt argued that Pervez Musharraf is trying to evade cases. It is feared that he will not return to Pakistan once he is allowed to leave the country.

He told court that an accused tried under Article 6 cannot be handed over to another country.

Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar also remarked that an accused in a criminal case cannot be handed over to other country until completion of the proceedings.

The court reserved its judgment over the plea after former president’s lawyer Farogh Naseem completed his arguments.
