(Web Desk) - The government s dialogue committee has sought several clarifications from members of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) committee today (Tuesday), Dunya News reported.

Government committee held a meeting in Islamabad to finalize the roadmap for talks and other relevant issues.

Besides the Prime Minister s Special Assistant Irfan Siddiqi‚ Retired Major (R) Amir‚ Rustam Shah Mohmand and Rahimullah Yousafzai attended the meeting.

A meeting between government and TTP committees will be useless until the needed clarifications are made, Irfan Siddiqui said.

He said government committee is working honestly for result-oriented talks.

Government and TTP intermediaries were scheduled to hold a preliminary meeting in Islamabad today at 2:00pm to prepare a roadmap for peace talks.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last week named a four-member team to start dialogue with the militants, who have been waging a violent insurgency in the country since 2007.

The Taliban team includes JUI-S chief Maulana Sami ul-Haq, the chief cleric of Islamabad s Red Mosque Maulana Abdul Aziz, and two top religious party leaders - Mufti Kifayatullah and Prof Ibrahim Khan.
