Summary PTI has assured its full support to the government and Taliban to make peace talks successful.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan will not become the member of the dialogue committee proposed by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
This was announced by PTI’s Information Secretary Dr Shireen Mazari.
Talking to media, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has his own political importance and cannot become part of the committee however PTI completely supports the process of dialogue. He urged that the process of talks should be transparent and follow the constitution.
PTI Secretary Information Dr Shireen Mazari said the core committee has advised Imran Khan that he should not become member of the committee.
She said that PTI appreciates Taliban’s proposal for expressing confidence in PTI and its chairman, but Imran Khan will not join the dialogue committee.
Shirin Mazari said that the Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa government would full facilitate the process of peace talks.
Mazari said that the PTI has been backing the process of talks from the day first however the dialogue should be initiated on solid basis and under the frame of Constitution.
Earlier, PTI chairman Imran Khan chaired party’s core committee meeting in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi, Asad Umar, Arif Alvi, Jahangir Tarin, Fauzir Qasuri, Shireen Mazari, Ijaz Chaudhry and other senior leaders of the party.
PTI members welcomed the move and assured full support to the government and Taliban to make the dialogue process successful.
The team named by the Taliban on Saturday comprises Imran Khan, the chief cleric of Islamabad s Red Mosque, Maulana Abdul Aziz, and three top religious party leaders - Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, Mufti Kifayatullah and Prof Ibrahim Khan.
